New Volume on "Ecumenism in Motion"

The contributions of a two-year research project and workshop series on new perspectives of ecumenical theology are published in June 2021 at Evangelische Verlagsanstalt Leipzig. The volume is co-edited by Rebekka Klein and Lisanne Teuchert and its intention is to give the young voices of ecumenism a forum.

Currently, the framework conditions for ecumenical practice are on the one hand highly dynamic, and on the other hand, ecumenical stagnation is deplored. In this situation, the present volume seeks new departures. Predominantly younger voices contribute new approaches, react to current challenges and developments and generate resonances in concrete fields of ecumenical practice. The methodological and factual orientation of ecumenism is often put to the test and the dynamics of worldwide religious, political and social shifts are questioned as to their consequences for the future of ecumenism.

"Sovereignty and Event" - New Book

More Information on the Book

Dr. Calvin D. Ullrich, research assistant (PostDoc) at the chair, will publish his dissertation in January 2021 in the series "Religion in Philosophy and Theology" with the publisher Mohr Siebeck. It is entitled "Sovereignty and the Event. The Political in John D. Caputo's Radical Theology". With it, Dr. Ullrich presents a theological-political interpretation of the work of the philosopher John D. Caputo, which takes into account especially his late writings and, from these, sheds new light on Caputo's concern to deconstruct sovereignty.
